Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR). Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort. Maintain strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and adherence to healthcare infection control standards. Manage dental equipment maintenance, sterilization procedures, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Document all patient interactions accurately in EMR systems, review medical records, and assist with medical coding as needed. Support pediatric dentistry services by adapting communication techniques to ensure a positive experience for young patients. Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery in a fast-paced dental environment. Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Opendental for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and patient care tailored for children. Expertise in chairside assisting techniques, including handling dental instruments and managing X-ray equipment safely. Ability to perform vital signs assessment accurately and recognize signs of medical emergencies or abnormalities. Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about their dental health. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management, documentation review, and medical coding processes. Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Prior experience working in general dentistry or dental clinic settings is highly desirable.
