Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care while performing a variety of clinical tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral health and ensuring their comfort during procedures. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth. Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety. Take medical imaging such as X-rays and interpret results for the dentist. Review patient documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in medical coding for procedures performed during patient visits. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and preventive care. Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients. Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental software systems. Support pediatric patients by creating a comfortable atmosphere during their visits. Qualifications Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Proficiency in aseptic technique and familiarity with medical imaging processes. Strong understanding of documentation review practices and HIPAA compliance. Experience with medical coding is preferred but not required. Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of Dentrix or similar dental management software systems is an advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and comfort. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, especially in pediatrics.
