Dental Hygienist

Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies. Support infection control procedures by practicing aseptic techniques and ensuring sterilization of instruments. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice. Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical coding practices. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately. Prior experience in a dental office or clinic setting demonstrating proficiency in chairside assisting, infection control, and medical records management.
