Job Title:
Dental Hygiene Coordinator Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dental Hygiene Coordinator to join our team. The Dental Hygiene Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the dental hygiene department by managing patient appointments, coordinating schedules, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients.
Responsibilities:
Schedule dental hygiene appointments for patients based on their needs and availability. Coordinate with dental hygienists and other staff to optimize daily schedules and maximize efficiency. Greet patients warmly upon arrival, answer their questions, and ensure a positive experience. Maintain accurate patient records, including updating dental/medical histories and treatment plans as needed. Manage dental hygiene supply inventory and place orders as necessary. Follow up with patients regarding their appointments, treatment plans, and outstanding balances. Process payments and assist with insurance claims and billing inquiries. Collaborate with the front desk team to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient operations. Educate patients on dental hygiene practices and the importance of regular check-ups. Uphold strict confidentiality and comply with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a dental office setting, preferably as a dental assistant or in a similar administrative role is a MUST Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes. Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Working Conditions:
Typical dental office environment. Full-time position - 37+ hours per week May require standing or sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
