Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs. Assist with chairside procedures such as applying sealants, fluoride treatments, and taking dental radiographs (medical imaging). Maintain accurate and detailed medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support the dental team with infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Collaborate with dentists during procedures utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort. Review documentation, assist in medical coding, and ensure all records are up-to-date within electronic medical record such as CareStream PracticeWorks. Skills Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings with strong knowledge of dental terminology. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation review and record management. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively across diverse age groups, including pediatrics. Knowledge of anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and pediatric-specific procedures confidently. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical records management. Effective communication skills to educate patients clearly about treatment plans and oral health practices.
