Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic PRN Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team on a flexible, as-needed basis. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional dental hygiene services, promote patient education, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. Your expertise will help ensure a positive patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/Electronic Medical Records) in compliance with HIPAA regulations and practice policies. Ensure infection prevention measures are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of dental equipment. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures. Experience in pediatric dentistry and working with pediatric patients is highly preferred. Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient safety standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their dental care needs and treatment options. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including HIPAA compliance management. Familiarity with medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, medical records review, and documentation review processes. $40.00 - $48.00 per hour
