Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, promote oral health education, and support the overall success of our dental practice. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel confident and cared for at every visit. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower their health journey. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Support infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and following strict aseptic techniques. Collaborate with dentists and other team members in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Review documentation for accuracy, assist with medical coding for billing purposes, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment is preferred. Familiarity with Open Dental is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology is essential. Experience working with pediatric patients and in pediatric dentistry settings is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and documentation review processes. Prior experience in dental assisting or chairside assisting enhances your ability to support clinical workflows effectively. Certification in dental hygiene from an accredited program is required; additional certifications in medical coding or infection control are advantageous.
