Dental Hygienist Francis Dental Center Provo, UT Job Details Part-time $40.00 - $43.65 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications CPR Certification Registered Dental Hygienist Full Job Description Familiarize yourself with each patient's chart prior to greeting the patient. Note whether all previously recommended treatment has been done. Maintain good communication with all patients by greeting them and making sure they know who you are. Ensure that each patient's medical and dental history is updated and discuss any appropriate points with the patient. Ask the patient if he/she has been having any dental difficulties. Answer any questions the patient may have about having x-rays taken. Respect patient privacy when discussing personal issues. Take any needed x-rays. Perform a standard inspection for decay, and oral lesions and chart the pocket depth. While performing your inspection, talk to the patient about what you are finding. Explain how these conditions develop (e.g. lack of consistent flossing leads to gum disease). Perform a standard scaling and polishing. Record all appropriate information in the patient's chart. Let the Doctor know when the patient is ready for the examination. Avoid talking over the Dr. when he is with the patient. Allow the patient time with Dr, giving him opportunity to address their concerns. Inform the Doctor of any conditions you have noted. Help "sell" the dentistry.
Instruct patients in:
