We are a fun-loving, supportive team looking for a part-time hygienist who values exceptional patient care and who appreciates a positive and low stress atmosphere! We need dedication every Thursday from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm and every other Friday from 8:45 to 3:00 pm. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices and procedures, previous Dentrix and Dexis training and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff. Core Clinical & Preventive Duties Perform thorough cleanings, including scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) to remove calculus, plaque, and stains. Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays). Perform oral cancer screenings, assess periodontal health, and record patient dental health history. Apply cavity-preventive agents, such as fluorides and sealants. Administer local anesthetics and nitrous oxide, in accordance with state regulations. Document patient care, including periodontal charting, with high accuracy. Patient Care & Communication Teach patients proper oral hygiene techniques (brushing, flossing) and provide nutritional counseling. Ensure patient comfort, answer questions, and help alleviate dental anxiety. Collaborate with the dentist to develop hygiene treatment plans. Accurately chart treatment for patient estimates to be determined. Strong communication skills and a patient-focused attitude. Maintain and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with OSHA and CDC standards. Prepare, disinfect, and restock treatment rooms between patients. Coordinate with the front office to manage the hygiene schedule effectively. Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license. Current CPR/BLS certification. Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Dexis, Intraoral Camera). Have fun and know that you are a valued team member of a 5 star office!
