Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to enhance their dental health. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with chairside support, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping. Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the clinical environment. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and medical records management. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures. Experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health and medical imaging techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations.
