Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a welcoming, professional environment. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough cleanings, and support overall patient wellness. This paid position offers the opportunity to grow your skills within a collaborative team dedicated to excellence in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental records to inform treatment plans. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and post-procedure care to promote long-term dental health. Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment notes, and medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and HIPAA regulations to ensure accurate communication and compliance. Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children in a pediatric dentistry setting. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes to uphold safety standards. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practice. Excellent communication skills for patient education, documentation review, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
