Your expertise will help maintain optimal oral health, support general dentistry procedures, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote oral health. Assess patients' oral health status by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking vital signs, and conducting oral examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Capture and review dental radiographs (medical imaging) accurately while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Document all patient interactions, treatments, and assessments clearly in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow HIPAA guidelines diligently to protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures. Experience with pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-specific care approaches. Skilled in chairside assisting, including aseptic technique and managing dental instruments efficiently. Ability to perform vital signs assessment, medical coding, and review of medical records accurately. Excellent patient care skills with a warm, professional demeanor that fosters trust and comfort.
