Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in South Burlington, VT. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a commitment to providing high-quality dental hygiene services. This role involves working closely with patients to ensure their dental health and comfort while performing various clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy on patients of all ages, including pediatric patients. Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories. Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for patient documentation and record management. Assist in chairside procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow during dental treatments. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits. Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans based on patient assessments and needs. Manage medical imaging tasks, including X-rays, while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in general dentistry practices. Qualifications Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred but not required. Proficiency in using dental software is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and maintaining accurate medical records. Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
