Sterilization/Laboratory Assistant at busy Periodontal Practice

Essential Duties And Responsibilities. Follow office procedures for cleaning lab, operatories and equipment Maintain a clean and orderly workspace Keep all rooms, lab and supply room stocked Sort and organize all scrubs weekly Open boxes and put away supplies daily Run sterilization program: sterilize all instruments and put away, run weekly sterilization tests and maintain both sterilizers both weekly/monthly Vacusol suction following every surgery procedure Vacusol every hygiene room at the end of each day Clean and lubricate all headpieces Prepare all hygiene trays Prepare all surgery trays Prepare all exam, post-op and OHI trays Set-up operatories after each procedure and break down/clean every operatory after each procedure At the end of the day, set-up each operatory for the next morning Change all chemical solutions i.e.: disinfectant sprays, soap, x-ray processor Turn off suctions, shut down rooms and lab accordingly to office standards at end of day- if here Inventory Maintain inventory system. Check invoices and follow up on discrepancies. Open and verify supply shipments. Maintain orderliness of physical stock. Maintenance Assure overall maintenance of dental equipment. Maintain x‐ray processor. Arrange for repairs when necessary.
