Duties Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of dental instruments using advanced sterilization equipment and techniques. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile medical instruments, ensuring they meet strict quality standards for surgical procedures. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and dental instruments, ensuring timely reordering and proper storage. Reprocess endoscopes and other specialized medical equipment following manufacturer guidelines and infection control protocols. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Apply aseptic techniques during instrument handling to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety. Assist with infection prevention management by adhering to healthcare infection control policies and participating in staff training on sterilization best practices. Experience Prior experience in sterile processing or medical instrument sterilization within a healthcare setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures enhances performance in this role. Familiarity with medical equipment operation, especially sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, autoclaves, and endoscope reprocessors. Strong understanding of infection prevention management principles, including aseptic technique and healthcare infection control standards. Demonstrated ability to manage inventory efficiently while maintaining meticulous records of sterilization processes. Certification or training in sterile processing or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; on-the-job training provided for motivated candidates committed to learning.
