We're looking for a Records Technician who shares that commitment and wants to make a real first impression on every patient who walks through our doors. About the Role As our Records Technician, you'll capture the diagnostic photos, x-rays, CBCT scans, and intraoral scans that form the foundation of every patient's treatment plan. You'll be one of the first clinical faces a new patient sees — so a calm, welcoming manner is just as important as precision and consistency. This role also includes 3D printing study models, fabricating retainers, and cross-training in chairside support during busy periods. What You'll Do Capture accurate digital photographs (facial and intraoral) per practice protocol Take panoramic, cephalometric, and CBCT images with proper positioning and radiation safety Perform digital intraoral scans (e.g., iTero) for diagnostic, treatment, and retainer purposes Upload, organize, and label records accurately in each patient's chart Prepare complete diagnostic materials for the doctor and Treatment Coordinator ahead of consultations Maintain HIPAA compliance in handling, storing, and transmitting patient records Welcome and prepare patients for records appointments, explaining the process to ease any anxiety Communicate patient concerns or unusual findings to clinical staff promptly Fabricate retainers and removable appliances as directed by the doctor, including operating and maintaining our in-office 3D printer Take impressions for retainers, study models, and other appliances Support sterilization and restocking of clinical instruments and supplies Cross-train in chairside assisting and operatory turnover during high-volume periods What We're Looking For Radiography licensure required A detail-oriented, patient-focused team player Someone comfortable with dental/orthodontic imaging technology (or eager to learn) Strong communication skills and a calm, reassuring presence with patients Ability to follow protocols precisely, especially around radiation safety and HIPAA compliance Comfort with hands-on technical work (3D printer operation and maintenance) Flexibility to jump into chairside support when the team needs it
