Part-Time Dental Waterline Sampling Technician Location:

Fayetteville VA Medical Center (Fayetteville, NC) and Wilmington VA Health Care Center (Wilmington, NC) Position Summary I-2-I Solutions is seeking part-time technicians to perform dental unit waterline sampling at Department of Veterans Affairs medical facilities. The technician will collect water samples from dental units in accordance with CDC recommendations and VA contract requirements. Sampling will be performed monthly at VA dental clinics in Fayetteville and Wilmington, North Carolina. The technician may also be required to perform retesting when bacterial levels exceed allowable limits. Candidates with experience in dental clinics, sterile processing departments (SPS), healthcare facilities, laboratory specimen collection, infection prevention, or water sampling are encouraged to apply. All sampling activities are conducted during normal business hours at VA medical facilities. Essential Duties Collect dental waterline samples Sample multiple dental operatories Collect approximately 45 samples per month at Fayetteville VA Medical Center Collect approximately 30 samples per month at Wilmington VA Health Care Center Maintain sterile sampling techniques Complete field documentation Prepare samples for laboratory shipment Coordinate directly with dental clinic personnel Maintain sampling supplies and equipment Ensure compliance with infection prevention requirements Maintain sample integrity and chain-of-custody documentation. Perform retesting of dental units as required Must be available to perform retesting within 24 hours of notification, or the next business day, when requested by the VA.

Dental clinics Dental assisting Dental hygiene Sterile Processing Service (SPS) Laboratory specimen collection Water sampling Infection prevention Requirements Strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently Reliable transportation to assigned VA facility. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds of sampling supplies and equipment Professional appearance Ability to meet required sampling schedules Availability to support time-sensitive retesting requests Ability to obtain and maintain access to Department of Veterans Affairs facilities. Ability to comply with VA security and identification requirements.
