Dental Lab Technician-Sr

Under limited supervision, responsible for fabrication and repair of dental/fixed removable prostheses, filling casts, vacuum forming or laminating, establishing initial trims and other functions. May lead or mentor lower level team members. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of all safety procedures and guidelines that pertain to a dental laboratory. Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail. Organizational and time management skills. Exhibits accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work for quality.

EDUCATION

High school Diploma or GED is required.

PREFERRED

Eligible for certification as a Certified Dental Technician by the National Board of Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology. Reads specifications or prescriptions, examines models and impressions to determine the design of dental products to be constructed. Fabricates, alters, and repairs dental devices such as dentures, crowns, bridges, inlays, and appliances for straightening teeth. Provides guidance, instruction, and feedback when appropriate to undergraduate, graduate students, and faculty members. Assists in the development of teaching aids for pre/post-doctoral students. Performs all other duties as assigned.
