Job Description
Overview Johnson Dental is searching for a Dental Sterilization Technician , where your expertise will ensure the safety, cleanliness, and readiness of all dental instruments and equipment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention and control by thoroughly sterilizing, decontaminating, and assembling dental instruments, as well as preparing the operatories for procedures . Your attention to detail and commitment to sterile processing will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced dental environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop specialized skills in medical equipment sterilization and infection control protocols while supporting a collaborative healthcare team. Responsibilities Perform decontamination of used dental instruments using appropriate cleaning and sterilization techniques, ensuring compliance with sterilization standards and manufacturer instructions. Assemble, inspect, and package sterile dental instruments with precision to guarantee safety and functionality for clinical procedures. Operate medical sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers, following strict safety and procedural guidelines. Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking logs, and quality assurance records to ensure regulatory compliance. Follow strict infection prevention protocols including aseptic techniques during instrument handling. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure the practice runs on-time. Skills Proficiency in sterile processing medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with medical terminology related to dental care and infection control practices. Ability to operate medical equipment used in sterilization safely and effectively. Expertise in healthcare infection prevention management, including aseptic technique and surgical instrument handling. Previous experience as a sterilization technician not required, though an openness to learning new skills and information is a must.
