Job Description

Overview:
NaphCare is hiring a Dentist to join our team of medical professionals in the Yuma - Arizona Department of Corrections in San Luis, Arizona.

Pay rates range from $•to $•per hour based on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience.

As a Correctional Dentist, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide dental care to the incarcerated individuals in residence.

Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have a variety of duties to keep you engaged.

This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical and dental needs.
Responsibilities:
The Dentist is responsible for ensuring quality dental care is provided to protect the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population.

Responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

Diagnosing, treating, and providing preventative care for patientsCreating treatment plans and performing dental procedures, such as extractions and restorationsEducate patients on proper oral hygiene practicesMaintain accurate and detailed patient dental recordsCollaborating on with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients' oral health needs
Qualifications:
Experience / Requirements / QualificationsDoctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalentExperience in clinical dentistry and correctional settings preferredValid dental license in the state where the facility is locatedMust possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)Current DEA registrationStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsTechnical skills in providing a full range of dental servicesKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standardsAble to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsAbility to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issuesMust have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
Physical Capabilities:
Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
