Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental history review, oral examinations, and diagnostic imaging using advanced medical imaging tools. Deliver a wide range of dental services such as dental cleanings, restorations, prosthodontics, root canal therapy, dental extractions, and oral surgery procedures. Utilize dental terminology accurately to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures clearly to patients. Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws. Apply aseptic techniques and infection control protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Collaborate with specialists in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and anesthesiology when necessary for complex cases. Use dental office management software such as Open Dental for scheduling, charting, billing, and maintaining medical records efficiently. Conduct patient care with empathy and professionalism while adhering to all healthcare diagnosis standards and dental terminology conventions. Ensure compliance with all state healthcare regulations and HIPAA privacy laws throughout every aspect of patient care. Experience Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic or dental office environment with a focus on general dentistry. Demonstrated proficiency in dental fabrication techniques and performing procedures such as root canal therapy and dental extractions. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Open Dental is highly desirable. Experience providing pediatric dentistry services is a plus; certification or additional training in pediatric dentistry is advantageous. Ability to perform oral surgery procedures confidently while maintaining high standards of patient safety and comfort. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
