Full-Time, permanent position Position SummaryThe Dentist provides hands-on dental care and patient education to a broad range of patients. This role includes supervision of clinical staff and oversight of clinic operations, including: Approving orders for clinical supplies Coordinating equipment maintenance and repair Collaborating with the office manager and program director to ensure smooth clinic operationsThe Dentist contributes to a collaborative, mission-driven team serving the local community and surrounding areas of Mount Desert Island.
QualificationsEducation & Certification:
D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited institution Valid Maine Dental License Valid DEA license to prescribe controlled substances
Experience:
Three years of professional dental practice preferred Knowledge of modern dentistry and oral surgery principles Experience with dental terminology, procedures, and preventive care
Skills & Abilities:
Strong clinical judgment and technical proficiency Ability to supervise and mentor clinical staff Excellent communication and patient education skills Physical Demands Sit for extended periods during patient care and meetings Perform fine motor tasks, grasping, and manipulation of dental instruments Occasionally twist, reach, and move within the clinical environment
