Setting:
Community health clinic / Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive dental care to a diverse patient population, including preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services, with an emphasis on patient-centered care for underserved communities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct dental examinations, diagnose, and treat conditions such as cavities, gum disease, and oral infections. Perform dental procedures including fillings, extractions, root canals, and crowns.
Provide preventive care:
cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral hygiene education. Maintain accurate patient records and follow safety protocols and infection control standards. Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in community outreach programs and promote oral health awareness. Support clinic policies, confidentiality, equality, and quality standards.
Qualification, Licensure, Experience:
Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from an accredited dental school. Current unrestricted ME license to practice dentistry (or) Willing to obtain. DEA license and current BLS certification. Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience preferred, especially in community health or public health settings. Experience working with underserved and Medicaid populations is highly desirable.
