General Dentist Position Overview A General Dentist is skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused. In this role, you will provide comprehensive oral healthcare, ranging from routine cleanings and preventative care to complex restorative and cosmetic procedures. A General Dentist is dedicated to clinical excellence, values patient education, and excels at building long-term relationships that ease dental anxiety.
Examine patients' teeth and gums, analyze X-rays, and accurately diagnose oral diseases, cavities, and structural issues.
Treatment Planning:
Formulate comprehensive, individualized treatment plans for patients, clearly explaining options and answering questions.
Patient Education:
Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene, preventative care, and post-operative instructions.
Anesthesia Administration:
Safely administer local anesthetics and manage patient comfort and pain control during procedures.
Compliance & Safety:
Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, CDC, and state regulatory safety and infection control protocols.
Digital Records:
Document all evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately within our digital practice management software.
Education:
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
Licensure:
Current, active license to practice dentistry in Oklahoma (or willingness to obtain before starting).
Certifications:
Active DEA license, OBN license and CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain before starting).
Experience:
2+ years of clinical experience in a private practice or clinic setting preferred (open to exceptionally skilled new graduates).
Skills:
Proficiency with modern dental technology (e.g., digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, CBCT). Excellent manual dexterity and spatial awareness. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to calm anxious patients. Ability to work effectively with a supporting team of hygienists, assistants, and office staff.
