Since opening in 2001, The Dental Health Clinic has been a non-profit dental practice located in Berwick, Pennsylvania, dedicated to delivering high-quality, affordable, and compassionate dental care. We proudly serve individuals and families of all ages, including those on Medical Assistance, seniors, and the uninsured. Our mission is to advance oral health equity and eliminate barriers to care within our community.
Position Summary:
The Staff Dentist will deliver a full range of dental services to patients while upholding the clinic's mission of access and compassion. The ideal candidate is a dedicated professional who thrives in a collaborative, community-focused environment. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors and plays a vital role in shaping clinical priorities and ensuring high-quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide general dentistry services including exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, and dentures Diagnose and develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients of all ages Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient care in electronic health records Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and front office staff to ensure efficient clinic flow Participate in and support community outreach, education programs, and oral health initiatives Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and clinical safety standards Attend and report on clinical updates, needs, and outcomes at regular board meetings Help foster a supportive learning environment for dental staff, students, or volunteers Stay up-to-date with continuing education and current best practices in dentistry
Qualifications:
DMD or DDS from an accredited dental school Active and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Pennsylvania Current CPR/BLS certification DEA license or eligibility Strong commitment to serving underserved populations Excellent communication, clinical, and organizational skills Previous experience in public health, nonprofit, or community dental settings preferred
