Job Description
Teaches Clinical/ Lab sessions for Expanded Duty Detnal Assisting (EDDA) and DAT 154 Dental Procedures. Works with students teaching the basic operatory procedures for dental patient care, including infection control procedures, identifying dental instruments for operative procedures, passing instruments, isolation of dentition and assisting the dentist. Associate's degree is required for the clinical or lab courses. Teaches Didactic (Lecture) Course Sections; Dental Morphology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Medical Emergencies, Dental Health Education, Ethics and Professionalism, Dental Materials. Faculty providing didactic instruction must have earned at least a baccalaureate degree within three years of the date of initial hire as a didactic faculty. Positions are open to Dental Hygienists with current CDA credentials and appropriate experience and knowledge in assigned course content. This position is located across varies Midlands Technical College campuses. Associate's degree, DANB Certified Dental Assistant, General Dentistry experience and current CPR credentials. Bachelor's degree, Chairside General Dentistry and Dental Specialties experience, and computer software experience is preferred. Adjunct faculty are compensated in accordance with Midlands Technical College's established pay schedule. The standard adjunct pay rate is $57 per three-credit-hour course. Final compensation may vary depending on academic credentials and total course credit hours.
