Open Rank Professor- Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology University of Tennessee Health Science Center - 4.0 Memphis, TN Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Qualifications Pathology Doctor of Dentistry Full Job Description The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track faculty at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. The successful candidate will join the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and contribute to the department's missions of excellence in education, patient care, research, and service.
TEACHING AND CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
Provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction in both General and Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and related disciplines within the predoctoral dental curriculum, dental hygiene curriculum, and residency programs. Participate in interdisciplinary teaching activities involving Oral Diagnosis, Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and Orofacial Pain. Develop and implement innovative educational strategies that enhance student learning and promote evidence-based practice. Mentor and advise predoctoral students, residents, and other learners as appropriate.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION AND PATIENT CARE
Participate in the diagnosis and management of oral and maxillofacial diseases through clinical and biopsy service activities. Provide consultation services for patients with oral lesions and complex diagnostic conditions. Collaborate with other dental and medical specialties in the comprehensive care of patients. Support quality assurance initiatives and maintain compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
RESEARCH AND SCHOLARLY ACTIVITIES
Engage in scholarly activities consistent with academic rank and interests. Participate in research, publications, presentations, and other scholarly endeavors. Mentor students and residents in research and scholarly projects when appropriate. Participate in departmental, college, university, and professional service activities. Contribute to accreditation, assessment, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Support outreach activities that advance oral health and education patient care throughout Tennessee and surrounding region.

EDUCATION
DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree from a CODA-accredited institution. Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from a CODA-accredited advanced education program.
LICENSES
Possess or eligibility for a Tennessee dental license or Tennessee teaching license.
DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES
Previous teaching experience in a dental school or academic health center preferred but not required. Demonstrated excellence in teaching, patient care, scholarship, and service. Experience with biopsy services, oral and maxillofacial pathology consultation and clinical oral and maxillofacial pathology preferred. Experience mentoring students and residents preferred. Strong diagnostic skills in oral and maxillofacial pathology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to collaborative and interdisciplinary patient care. Ability to contribute to an integrated Diagnostic Sciences curriculum. Familiarity with digital pathology systems and contemporary educational technologies preferred.
