Location Blackwood Campus Department Dental Programs Days and Hours Days and/or Evenings and/or Saturdays Requisition Number Position Goals • The Dental Assisting Adjunct will report directly to the Director of Dental Programs and will provide academic and administrative support to the leadership of the dental assisting program. The Adjunct will support the dental assisting department in the day-to-day operations of the pre-clinic, clinic, sterilization and laboratory areas. • The Dental Assisting Adjunct will remain consistent with Camden County College's acknowledgement of the inherent value and dignity of all individuals by creating and nurturing a learning and working environment that affirms and leverages our community's traditions, heritages, perspectives, and experiences. Job Description Teach Dental Assistant principals and skills to prepare students for the Certified Dental Assistant credential according to the Dental Assistant National Board (DANB) scope of practice in didactic and lab courses. Teach Dental Assisting principles and skills to prepare students for the NJ Registered Dental Assistant credential according to the NJ State Board of Dentistry Expanded Functions scope of practice in didactic and lab course. Teach Dental Radiology principles and skills to prepare students for the NJ Limited Radiology Technician-Dental credential according to the NJ Department of Environmental Protection scope of practice in didactic and lab course. Teach assigned theory and/or lab skill content areas in accordance with the College's approved course description. Maintain course syllabus in accordance with student learning outcomes. Incorporate appropriate teaching-learning strategies, technologies, and assessment methods for evaluation of student learning. Observe and provide feedback to students during clinical proficiency on all dental assisting skills. Demonstrate a sense of connection and responsibility for helping the College to achieve success through a commitment to its mission, vision, and values. Demonstrate appropriate use of existing technology to further learning for students. Incorporate instructional technology to support the learning process. Communicate effectively, share vision, focus on people, initiate positive change, value differences and foster collaboration within diverse groups. Exhibit knowledge of current technology in the practice of dental assisting. Manage the learning environment with a student-centered focus. Implement diverse and equitable teaching and learning strategies that accommodate the learning styles of students. Follow accreditation guidelines and procedures as designated by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Follow department policies and procedures as designated by the Dental Assisting Program Coordinator and Dental Programs Director. Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training by Human Resources. Comply with all safety, fire and smoking regulations Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Teaching Methodology Courses Minimum 3 years of clinical dental experience Current N.J.
