Dentist - Full Time Benefits Eligible Oquirrh View Dental Clinic Salary
DOE POSITION SUMMARY
Performs professional dental care in the diagnosis and treatment of patients and assists the Dental Director in developing and implementing the dental program. Supervises dental residents and assists in their training. Primary Duties & Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities listed herein represent the Essential Functions this position regularly and customarily performs. As such, this list is not intended to be exhaustive, and additional job-related duties that are similar in nature or logical extensions of the Essential Functions may also be performed. 1. Provides care in the following aspects of a general dental practice: diagnosis, preventive dentistry, operative dentistry, pedodontics, periodontics, removable and fixed prosthodontics, endodontics and oral surgery. 2. Adheres to and implements company policy and best practices regarding infection control measures. 3. Supervises dental students and participates in their training. 4. Holds direct supervisory role over support staff. 5. Will take an active role, in collaboration with the Dental Director/Dentist, in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective operation of the dental clinic. 6. Participates in community outreach efforts. 7. Participates in the emergency call system. 8. Performs other duties as assigned in consultation with the Dental Director/Dentist. Qualifications & Education Requirements 1. Possession of a valid license to practice dentistry in the State of Utah, or under Federal authority 2. Graduation from an accredited school of dentistry 3. Working knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of dental disease 4. Working knowledge of the principles, standard practices, methods and techniques of dentistry 5. Working knowledge of preventive dentistry and educational methodologies utilized in prevention 6. Skill in oral operative techniques and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff 7. Desire and willingness to work with diverse populations required Preferred Qualifications 1. Completion of a GPR or AEGD very desirable 2. Previous dental experience very desirable but not required 3. Fluent Spanish/English language skills are preferred
Position Also Requires:
  • Prolonged periods sitting, both during patient care and at a desk/working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods of standing and bending
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
