SummaryProvides direct patient care including treatments and diagnostic studies as directed by a Registered Nurse. Provides other support services, dictated by patient needs, as a care delivery team member. Ensures water system disinfection and monitoring. Registers outpatient plasmapheresis and hemodialysis patients.
Job DutiesDelivers patient care as directed by the RN using a patient/family-centered approach. Performs functions related to disinfection of hemodialysis machines. Performs functions related to the water purification system and portable reverse osmosis machines. Ensures accurate, complete, and timely entry of patient registration and account data in the hospital system.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED 1 year of experience with provision of patient care activities including treatments and/or diagnostic studies. Ability to perform safe direct patient care as directed by the registered nurse. American Heart Association Basic Life Support

- State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire Preferred Qualifications experience with hemodialysis.
Examples:
Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.- Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
