A Dialysis Technician operates equipment used in dialysis, a process used to cleanse the blood of toxin in patients with kidney disease or kidney failure, and provides dialysis treatment to patients. Performs assessments of patients prior to treatment, and monitors patients closely during and after treatment. Cleans and maintains dialysis equipment.

E S S E N T I A L F U N C T I O N S
Assists with the provision and reinforcement of patient education according to the plan of care. Coordinates with health care team to provide patient care, treatment and services. Assists in clerical duties on the unit. Provides care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Other duties as assigned.
E D U C A T I O N
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
E X P E R I E N C E
One (1) year of previous experience as a Hemodialysis Technician preferred. One (1) year of previous experience as a CNA preferred.
C R E D E N T I A L S
Must have CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician) or equivalent within 18 months of hire and must maintain certification throughout employment with
IMH. CCHT
will be issued under an approved certification program. Must have current BLS or obtain within 60 days of hire and must maintain BLS throughout employment with

Must successfully complete Patient Care Technician orientation. Must successfully complete water treatment course for Hemodialysis. Must have excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone. Must be able to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing. Demonstrates effective listening skills. Excellent organization and time management skills; and ability to establish priorities effectively. Possess exceptional problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision. Ability to learn new computer software programs. Must have the ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
