Job Description

Position Title:
Dietary Aide Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka Job Description for Dietary Aide, part-time, 6am- 2pm or 4pm-7pm.
Scope of Position :
The purpose of the Dietary aide position is to provide assistance in all dietary services as instructed in accordance with the established policies and procedures .
Qualifications :
Experience with food preparation/service and using food equipment is preferred. Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Must possess, as minimum, an 8th grade education.
Job Responsibilities:
Follow sanitary guidelines as well as facility and departmental policies and procedures when performing all job duties. Prior to meal serving time at breakfast and lunch, deliver hot food cart to the dining room. During meal serving times, obtain food and drink orders from residents and then deliver food and drink orders to the residents in a timely manner. Clear tables and gather dirty dishes from the dining room. Wash all dishes in accordance with sanitation guidelines and make sure they are ready for next day. Store dishes and utensils to proper storage locations. Clean and set-up dining room for next day/meal. Assist in preparing foods for the next meal under the instruction and supervision of the Satellite Cook. Assist in daily/weekly cleaning duties. Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to Dietary Manager. Assist in maintaining food storage in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times. Re-fill snack machines Restock juices and coffee concentrates in dining rooms. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Assist co-workers in completing their duties.
Other Responsibilities:
Focus on meeting customer needs (staff, residents, families) Maintain a positive, caring attitude throughout the work day Use a team approach and help others. Display effective communication skills through proper interaction with residents, families and co-workers. Conduct yourself in way that conveys an attitude of trust and dependability with co-workers. Report for work every scheduled day, on time and follow rules for the time clock Respond to staffing needs of the department including calls for help when short staffed Participate in department meetings and maintain appropriate number of in-service hours. Practices safe work habits and reports all accidents/incidents, regardless of how minor, to immediate supervisor as soon as they occur and completes required incident report. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information to assure resident rights are protected.

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Must be able to bend, stoop, and move intermittently throughout work day. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 35 pounds from floor to waist. Must be able to lift 20 pounds from floor to shoulders. Must be able to lift 15 pounds from floor over head.
