Bakersfield, CA Pay Range:
$17.48 - $17.50 per hour (DOE) Orchard Post Acute is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Part-Time Dietary Aide to join our dietary services team. The Dietary Aide plays an important role in supporting meal service operations and maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment for our residents and staff. General Purpose The Dietary Aide assignments are determined by the needs and activity of the shift. The Dietary Aide assists with meal preparation, tray service, dishwashing, and sanitation duties within the dietary department. This position reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor . Essential Duties Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. However, it does not imply that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. Must be able to learn food service routines within a short period of time. Set up meal trays for resident meal service. Strip returned trays and assist with dishwashing duties. Assist with serving meals during scheduled meal times. Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of the shift. Observe water temperatures of the dishwasher during dishwashing cycles. Operate the dishwasher according to sanitation standards. Prepare nourishments and snacks as directed. Sweep and mop kitchen floors and maintain cleanliness of the dietary department. Remove trash and garbage from kitchen areas. Put groceries away in a safe, orderly, and sanitary manner. Clean work surfaces, refrigerators, and kitchen equipment. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all times. Assist the Cook or Dietary Supervisor with tasks as needed. Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff. Maintain cooperative working relationships with staff in all departments. Supervisory Requirements This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Language Skills Ability to read technical procedures. Ability to read and follow recipes. Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems.
