Illustrative Examples of Work 1. Operates automatic dishwashing equipment; loads and unloads machine with dishes and eating utensils which have been scraped as needed; checks unloaded dishes for cleanliness and possible damage before storing. 2. Scrubs and washes by hand pots, pans and other utensils not cleaned in automatic dishwashing equipment. 3. Assembles tray service in food assembly line; assists in the transportation of food carts to and from unit dining areas; clears dirty dishes from central dining area. 4. Maintains cleanliness of dish room, performing general cleaning of area, dishwashing equipment and racks. 5. Attends and participates in fire drills, in-service training, and other required meetings and activities. 6. Performs all duties in accordance with County policies and procedures. 7. Performs other duties as required or assigned. 8. Regular attendance is required, overtime as needed/scheduled. Education and Experience Requires knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to eight years elementary school. Requires no previous experience. Requires ability to complete informal on-the-job training. Abilities Requires ability to pass required physical examination. Requires ability to learn how to operate the kitchen equipment required for performing duties. Requires ability to maintain cleanliness and attention to sanitation in the work environment. Requires ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Requires ability to establish and maintain working relationships with fellow employees, staff, residents and the general public.
