Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Cook/Aide, where you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious, delicious meals to our clients. This energetic position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of individuals in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation setting. You will be involved in food preparation, service, sanitation, and ensuring that all dietary needs are met with care and professionalism. Responsibilities Assist in preparing and serving meals according to dietary guidelines and safety standards, ensuring timely delivery for clients. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including countertops, utensils, equipment, and dining spaces, adhering strictly to food safety regulations. Support food handling procedures by properly storing ingredients, checking expiration dates, and managing inventory levels within the dietary department. Help with bussing tables and cleaning dining areas after meals to promote a hygienic environment for all guests. Follow proper food production techniques to ensure high-quality meal presentation while managing time efficiently during busy meal periods. Assist with meal setup and portioning under supervision, ensuring each dish meets nutritional specifications. Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special diets or restrictions for or clients with specific health needs. Qualifications Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and sanitation practices essential for maintaining food safety standards. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak meal times. Previous dietary aide experience or familiarity with dietetics principles is advantageous. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a positive attitude toward teamwork and customer service. Basic understanding of food handling regulations and sanitation procedures required for kitchen safety compliance.
