Duties Develop and manage comprehensive care plans that incorporate dietary requirements, including specialized needs such as tube feeding and diagnostic evaluations. Supervise and train dietary staff, ensuring high standards of service, safety, and compliance with health regulations. Conduct patient assessments to determine nutritional needs, preferences, and restrictions, adjusting menus accordingly. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to dietary guidelines. Manage budgeting responsibilities for the dietary department, including inventory control and cost management. Collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient care plans through effective nutrition strategies and health coaching. Monitor the dietary department's compliance with assisted living standards and other regulatory requirements. Schedule Staff accordingly and adjust the schedule for call outs as needed. Attend Resident Council Meetings Monthly and fix any dietary issues as they arise. Ensure that Dietary Department is deficiency free and is survey ready at all times. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and nutrition principles essential for developing personalized care plans. Proven leadership and supervising experience in a dietary or healthcare setting. Excellent management skills to oversee staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations. Experience with patient assessment techniques, including tube feeding management and care plan development. Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations related to nutritional status and implement appropriate interventions. Familiarity with budgeting processes within a dietary department to optimize resource allocation. Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals and educating residents or patients on nutrition topics such as health coaching.
