PT Dietary Aide Assisted Living & Memory Care Facility

POSITION SUMMARY

: Prepares and serves nutritious, attractive meals under the supervision of a chef/cook. Maintains cleanliness of the food production and service areas. Set up tables and other dining areas as well as cleans up dining areas with special attention to sanitation. Priority given to applicants who have availability to work every other weekend. Daytime hours 7am-11am or 7am-3pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents. Prepares and serves meals under the supervision of a chef/cook. Ensures that meals are served at scheduled times, planning and organizing food preparation tasks appropriately. Prepares and serves meals for modified or therapeutic diets, according to physician orders and modified menus. Prepares and stores food with special attention to food safety principles and sanitation. Is responsible for clean-up duties as needed after each meal service. Follows cleaning schedules and sanitation checklists to ensure kitchen and food service areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. Assures that resident food preferences are met. Visits with residents in the dining room to assure resident satisfaction and obtain feedback. Monitors for changes in the status of residents and reports such observations to the Registered Dietitian or RN. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

: Must have desire to work with the elderly in an environment that upholds their privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and individuality. Is able to regularly lift up to 30 pounds, to occasionally lift more than 50 pounds, and to spend long periods of time standing. Has a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, and is able to read, write and understand English. Prior experience working in assisted living or another food service facility is preferred.
