DESCRIPTION

Gurwin Healthcare System is a full healthcare continuum providing extraordinary care to the Long Island community and beyond. Set primarily on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Gurwin's Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences), our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens), Island Nursing and Rehab Center, and two certified (CHHA) and licensed home care (LHCSA) agencies. We are currently seeking a full-time rehab / transport aide who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our residents.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

HS diploma or GED required One year long-term care experience and CPR certification preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and provide all new admissions wheelchairs on the day of admission. Provide and exchange wheelchairs for all residents. Performance of small repairs and maintenance of all wheelchairs. Organize rehab storage units. Monitor and organize DME rehab supply orders. Assist with residents' transport before lunch daily. Weekly wheelchairs inspections and document them. Daily hot pack and ice pack machine maintenance and temperature log in. Strip all newly provided wheelchairs from anti tippers and oxygen holders. Act as Rehab Transporter in absence of one.
