Job Description

Dietary Services Team Member This role requires individuals with a passion for food service, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to adapt to the unique demands of a healthcare setting. The Dietary Services Team Members play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive nutritious and appetizing meals, contributing to their overall well-being during their stay in the hospital.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certified Dietary Manager or Culinary training or certification is a plus. Food handler's permit or equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for servers handling patient meal delivery.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service setting. Previous experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Skills:
Culinary skills with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation:
Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and therapeutic diet guidelines. Ensure that meals are presented attractively and meet quality standards.
Special Diet Accommodation:
Accommodate special dietary requests and restrictions based on patient needs. Collaborate with dietary services coordinator to understand and implement therapeutic diets.
Kitchen Organization and Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper storage and handling of food. •
Meal Service:
Assist in the timely and accurate delivery of meals to patients. Provide friendly and respectful service to patients while considering individual dietary preferences and restrictions. Collaboration with
Dietary Team:
Work closely with the dietary services coordinator and nutrition team to communicate patient dietary needs and preferences. Attend meetings and training sessions as required. Adherence to
Dietary Standards:
Follow established guidelines for portion control and food quality. Ensure that meals align with prescribed therapeutic diets and nutrition goals.
Customer Interaction:
Interact with patients in a positive and courteous manner during meal delivery. Address patient inquiries and concerns regarding meals.
Adaptability:
Adapt to changes in meal plans, menu modifications, and special requests. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Teamwork:
Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff, servers, and dietary services coordinator to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Communicate effectively with other team members to meet patient dietary requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
Provide feedback on meal quality and suggest improvements. Participate in ongoing training to enhance culinary and customer service skills. Other duties as assigned.
Pay:
$12.00 - $14.00 per hour
