What You'll Do As our Registered Dietitian, you'll play an essential role in improving resident health outcomes by providing expert nutritional assessments, care planning, education, and oversight of dietary services.
Key Responsibilities include:
Complete nutritional initial, quarterly, annual, and significant change assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations. Conduct monthly nutrition reviews for high-risk residents, including: Significant weight loss or gain Pressure injuries Tube feeding Hemodialysis residents Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans. Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and provide nutritional counseling. Coordinate nutrition services with the Dietary Supervisor and interdisciplinary care team. Monitor dietary operations for compliance with nutrition, food safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Inspect diet trays to ensure physician diet orders are accurately followed. Consult with physicians, nurse practitioners, dialysis dietitians, and other healthcare providers regarding resident nutritional needs. Participate in daily stand-up meetings and interdisciplinary care conferences. Provide leadership and support to the Dietary Department while promoting excellence in resident care. Qualifications Required Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or eligible to sit for the RD Exam Licensed Dietitian in the State of California (or eligible as required) Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition or related field Maintain all required licenses, certifications, and continuing education Remain in good standing with the California Department of Public Health Preferred One year of clinical healthcare or skilled nursing experience Completion of an accredited dietetic internship Skills We're Looking For Strong clinical nutrition knowledge Excellent assessment and care planning skills Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of federal and California skilled nursing regulations Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout resident units and kitchen areas Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds Frequent documentation and computer use Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff Work Environment This position works in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting with a low to moderate noise level.
