Nutrition And Food Services Job Description Summary:
Clinical Dietitian / This is a vacant position that Anastasiya left when she transferred to OP Nutritional Clinic Cost Center within FANS dept. Position Responsibilities Maintains the appropriate Licensure, credentials and registrations; including but not limited to licensure as Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in the State of Florida and Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Maintains proficiency in medical nutrition therapy in general clinical practice. Maintains accurate records of daily of nutritional care activities. Performs nutrition screening as well as comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments following departmental policies and procedures. Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates medical nutrition care plans following departmental policies and procedures. Accurately calculates nutrient composition of enteral feedings and parenteral solutions. Participates in patient tray assessments and meal rounds, as assigned as part of the department performance improvement program. Initiates and follows up on nutrient intake analysis as indicated in departmental polices and procedures. Provides counseling and education to patients and or significant others regarding medical nutrition therapy as needed. Develops and reviews educational materials for patients as needed. Precepts dietetic interns during clinical rotations: Coordinates clinical activities for dietetic interns to meet their education objectives, serves as a resources to dietetic interns regarding medical nutrition therapy, monitors and evaluates clinical performance of dietetic intern and reports dietetic interns' performance to Clinical Nutrition Manager. Communicates special needs of patients to diet office personnel through use of computer, kardex, and discussion. Shows desire and initiative to increase knowledge and skills based on job needs, goals and performance evaluation feedback. Represents nutrition care on committees appropriate to the area of domain. Serves as a mentor to educate colleagues and other members of the health care team in the area of proficiency. Manages a complex caseload of patients by providing comprehensive nutrition care and thorough monitoring of outcomes of plans. Making use of proficient knowledge collaborates with the nutrition management team to develop nutrition standards of practice, and education material in collaboration with peers. Voluntarily participates in community outreach programs when nutrition programs are requested. Provides diet guidelines and education to Dietary supervisors, diet clerks, and cooks. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification None Education Master's Degree through an accredited institution by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®), from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (applicable if seeking dietitian registration for the first time). Experience At least two years of clinical experience, considering supervised practice, at least one year of experience in a specific area of clinical nutrition is preferred. This clinician must provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, with at least 50 % of patient case load in designated area of competency. This position demonstrates proficiency and provides leadership achieved through years of experience in specific areas of clinical nutrition (including but not limited to Critical Care, Oncology Nutrition, Renal Nutrition, GI Nutrition, Neonatal Nutrition). Clinicians to Perform as Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)Registered Dietitian:
Should have adequate competencies to provide comprehensive nutritional care to high-risk neonates patients in LevelII & III NICU.
The neonatal dietitian must master feeding methods, nutrient requirements, and develops enteral and parenteral regimens unique to newborn care. This professional would also be delivering service to high-risk maternity patients and extended attention to other units as assigned.Benefits:
