Position Overview The Registered Dietitian is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Food Services Department in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality nutritional services while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary food service environment. The Dietitian works closely with facility leadership to support resident health, dignity, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee daily food service operations across assigned facilities Develop, implement, and monitor therapeutic and regular diet programs in accordance with physician orders Ensure menus, recipes, and nutrition services meet regulatory and clinical standards Maintain an ongoing Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program Monitor food service sanitation, safety, and infection control practices Conduct routine rounds to inspect equipment, storage, and food service areas Ensure accurate and timely documentation of nutritional assessments and progress notes Collaborate with nursing, medical staff, and department leaders Assist with staff education, training, and in-service programs Analyze food service cost reports and financial data to support operational efficiency Implement recommendations from consultants and regulatory agencies as required Qualifications & Requirements Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Dietitian license in the state of Florida Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, long-term care, or healthcare setting Strong knowledge of dietary practices, food safety regulations, and long-term care requirements Demonstrated leadership and ability to supervise and work collaboratively with staff Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills Ability to read and interpret clinical, operational, and financial data Willingness to travel and support multiple facilities as needed Working Conditions Work performed in office settings and throughout food service and resident care areas Frequent interaction with residents, families, staff, and regulatory agencies Subject to interruptions and changing priorities May be required to work beyond normal business hours, weekends, or during emergencies Participation in continuing education and professional development required On-call availability during emergency or disaster situations Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout the facility during the workday Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 pounds Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing Capacity to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment and manage emotional stress Ability to assist in resident evacuation during emergency situations if necessary
