Overview We are seeking a passionate and innovative Culinary Director to lead our culinary operations with enthusiasm and expertise. Responsibilities Develop and implement creative menus that prioritize nutrition, variety, and resident preferences, ensuring compliance with dietary guidelines. Lead and supervise culinary staff, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team. Oversee the dietary department's daily operations, including food preparation, safety standards, and sanitation protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess patients' nutritional needs, create care plans, and adjust menus accordingly. Manage budgeting processes for the culinary department, optimizing resources while maintaining high standards of quality. Conduct regular quality assurance checks through diagnostic evaluations of food safety, ingredient freshness, and presentation. Incorporate health coaching techniques to educate residents on nutrition and healthy eating habits. Supervise tube feeding procedures and ensure proper protocols are followed for residents requiring specialized nutrition support. Lead efforts in menu planning that accommodate dietary restrictions such as allergies or medical conditions related to physiology or dietetics. Foster a positive dining environment that encourages social engagement and enhances residents' overall well-being. Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care settings with a strong background in dietary management. Demonstrated expertise in patient assessment related to nutritional needs and care plans development. Knowledge of tube feeding procedures, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and physiology as it relates to nutrition. Strong management skills with experience supervising culinary teams in a healthcare or dietary department setting. Familiarity with health coaching methods to promote healthy lifestyle choices among residents. Extensive background in budgeting, resource allocation, and operational management within a food service environment. In-depth understanding of dietetics principles, nutrition science, and regulatory compliance standards. Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement in culinary services. Ability to adapt menus for various medical conditions while maintaining flavor appeal and resident satisfaction.
