Job Description

Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist - Diabetes Educator Diabetes & Endocrinology Associates, P.C. - Conyers, GA Diabetes & Endocrinology Associates, PC is seeking a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist with strong interpersonal and organizational skills who is proficient in their ability to multitask. The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of four clinical endocrinologists, four NPs, three PAs and three RDs. Training will be provided in the areas listed below although previous experience in diabetes education is preferred. Competitive Pay and Benefits
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Possess a thorough knowledge in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Individually counsel patients in diabetes self-management by setting measurable goals and action plans while using appropriate educational materials. Teach weekly group education classes based on the National Standards for Diabetes Self-management Education guidelines Instruct patients in diabetes-related skills, including self-monitoring of blood glucose, insulin administration, hypo- and hyperglycemia protocol, sick day recommendations and problem solving. Triage incoming phone calls from patients and evaluate need for insulin titration to assist with glycemic control with direction from providers. Assist with patient acquirement of pump supplies, CGM, and insulin via patient assistance programs and correspondence with suppliers. Provide training on insulin pump therapy and the use of continuous glucose monitoring systems. Assist with updating online resources and educational material for company website and social media. Prepare materials for and attend staff meetings, as requested by management. Carry out additional duties, assignments and projects, as deemed necessary by the physicians and administrator.

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field required Registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Georgia (required) Prior experience conducting nutrition and/or diabetes education: 1 year (Preferred) Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist/CDCES (Preferred) or willingness to pursue certification
