Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Culinary Services to lead and innovate our culinary operations within a healthcare or senior living environment. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of food service, nutrition, and dietary management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals that promote well-being and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for culinary excellence, a deep understanding of patient-centered care, and strong leadership skills to inspire and guide their team toward operational excellence. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive food service programs aligned with health standards, dietary guidelines, and resident preferences. Lead the dietary department by managing staff, supervising meal preparation, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations. Collaborate with healthcare teams to create personalized care plans that incorporate nutritional needs, including specialized diets such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation requirements. Oversee patient assessments related to nutrition, ensuring accurate documentation and adjustments to care plans as needed. Manage budgeting processes for the culinary department, optimizing resources while maintaining high-quality service delivery. Conduct regular training sessions on health coaching, physiology knowledge, and dietary best practices to enhance team expertise. Supervise the preparation of meals that meet nutritional standards while appealing to residents' tastes and cultural preferences. Ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines related to assisted living facilities, healthcare nutrition standards, and safety protocols. Skills Extensive experience in assisted living or healthcare settings with a focus on nutrition and dietary management. Strong knowledge of physiology, dietetics, and clinical nutrition principles applicable to patient care. Proven leadership skills with experience supervising culinary or dietary teams in a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored care plans that include specialized diets such as tube feeding or other medical nutritional therapies. Expertise in managing budgets, inventory control, and resource allocation within a dietary department. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, residents, families, and team members. Familiarity with health coaching techniques to support residents' overall wellness goals. This role is vital in fostering a caring environment where nutrition plays a central role in residents' health and happiness.
