Dietetics Registered Dietitian Full Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the leadership with the day-to-day running of the core functional areas to ensure compliance with the prime contract, all subsequent amendments, program business rules, as well as state and federal regulations. Analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly reports for performance measurement and efficiencies Participates with project and executive management to establish strategic plans, objectives, initiatives, and work plans Assists the leadership in efforts to facilitate a functional, motivated, and cohesive project team Directly supervises and manages key Project staff as determined by the leadership Works with Project and executive management to develop, monitor and revise performance goals and objectives for the project and staff. Monitors achievement of those goals Provides direction to team members and resolves problems in a timely and professional manner Assists in the creation and implementation of innovative methodologies, process improvements and corrective action plans to continually streamline and improve project operations, outcomes, and quality. Develops, modifies, and executes project policies, ensuring all project team members comply Meets all standards established for this position as outlined in the corresponding annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management Function as a direct access provider by evaluating and counseling personnel without a referral. Provide individual and group nutrition planning, screening, assessment, intervention, counseling, and documentation guided by evidence-based, peer-reviewed literature. Advise and consult with the chain of command on issues related to all aspects of nutrition. Conduct individualized nutrition assessments, which may include ordering labs and completing hydration assessments. Provide small and large group education on performance nutrition. Develop protocols to optimize performance and readiness. Develop protocols for rehabilitation and return to duty. Serve as an advisor and consultant on dining facility and/or galley nutrition and coordinate between food service and command. Serve as the primary advisor on sports foods, dietary supplements, medical foods, and performance-enhancing substances within the POTFF program and unit/Command. Minimum Requirements Master's degree in relevant field of study and 7+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current licensed therapist valid in the state of practice is required. Education and licensure requirements are based on program contract requirements and are outlined in job posting Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science or a related field Certification from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Minimum of three (3) or more years of demonstrable accumulated experience as a Sport and/or Performance Dietitian with individual athletes and groups of athletes at the NCAA Collegiate Division I, Olympic, professional sports, USAF
CRAFT, USAF
SWTW, and/or SOF Operator levels in the respective accompanying settings. Paid, full-time experience as a government civilian or contractor at non-SOF Combat Arms, fixed-wing fighter units, U.S. Army H2F, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal units may be counted toward minimum qualification requirements when performed as a directly embedded, on-site staff member with the respective military entity. May be required to attend a face-to-face interview. Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) specialty certification required. - CSSD certification may be deferred by the Contracting Officer Representative if all other qualifications are met; if deferred, the certification must be earned within six (6) months of employment. - After ten (10) continuous years and two (2) complete testing cycles, retention of the CSSD certification becomes optional, provided three (3) of those years were served in NCAA Collegiate Division I, Olympic, professional sports, USAF
CRAFT, USAF
SWTW, and/or SOF Operator settings.
Preferred Requirements:
Master of Science International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry Level 1 or 2 certification. International Olympic Committee Diploma in Sport Nutrition.
