The Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) offers the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, a free nutrition program for eligible families in Massachusetts. WIC provides healthy foods, nutrition counseling, health education, and breastfeeding support to pregnant women, new mothers, and children under the age of five. The program aims to improve prenatal and birth outcomes for women, and promote healthier growth and development for children
Summary:
Cambridge/Somerville WIC has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and professional Nutritionist to join our fast-paced team working under CHA. The Nutritionist I provides nutrition care to high-risk women, infants, and children under the supervision of a senior nutritionist. The Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program keeps pregnant and breastfeeding women and kids under 5 healthy by providing healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to healthcare and other services, free of charge, to Massachusetts families who qualify.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, foods and nutrition, or nutrition education OR Master's degree in public health nutrition, nutrition, or food and nutrition if Bachelor's degree is not in the related field Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or licensure with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Dietitians and Nutritionists, desired One year's experience in clinical or community nutrition, preferred Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilities. Good communications skills. Sensitivity to the needs of the participant population. Availability to work at multiple WIC sites and during program clinic hours as needed Brazilian/Portuguese speaker, preferred.
