Health & Wellness Registered Dietitian Coordinator Worcester Head Start Worcester Public Schools - 3.6 Worcester, MA Job Details Full-time $37 - $41 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance Career development plan Qualifications Dietetics Registered Dietitian Full Job Description Candidate must be a Registered DietitianWork with program managers to collaborate and integrate servicesPlan and/or provide relevant professional development opportunities for health, dental and nutrition staffProvide ongoing support, and collaborative center based supervision and evaluation with Center Coordinators for health, dental and nutrition staffWork in partnership with program and center administrators and management to identify and address safety issues and concernsOversee ordering of health supplies and materials for all buildingsOversee the updating and revision of health forms, policies and procedures as recommended by federal, state and local agenciesEnsure all health related screenings on Head Start children are completed within 45 days of the child entering the ProgramEnsure immunizations, physical exams, blood work and dental exams are up-to-date for all childrenPlan and implement overall health services as required by the Head Start Performance Standards and any applicable state regulationsAttend and/or facilitate appropriate health discipline staff meetings with center coordinatorsOrganize and facilitate the Health Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) meetings semi-annuallyCoordinate treatment, in collaboration with center nurses, of Head Start children with community health-care providers (physicians, hospitals, clinics, etc.) Support Head Start nurses preparation and submission of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Immunization Survey for children Oversee the development of health related activities in collaboration with health staff that can be used in Head Start classrooms and for parents and staffWork with dental hygienists and nurses to ensure children have a dental home within 90 days of enrollmentImplement and maintain an accurate record-keeping system to track childrens health information and staffs health records, with the support of the Health Secretary Oversee the health secretary's input and contribute to the health data input in the ChildPlus systemPromote public relations and communication with community and other health agenciesFacilitate the transition of Head Start health records for all children entering kindergarten to the appropriate settingsConduct interviews and necessary follow-up process for health positions in collaboration with the human resource & data specialistCollaborate with the director to complete all reports required by the Office of Head Start including, but not limited to the Program Information Report, Community Assessment, Self Assessment, etc.

Support the nutrition aides to ensure all Individual Health Plans (IHP) and modifications are in place for each child in need, and families are providing ongoing education regarding special modifications Collaborate with WPS Nutrition Office to ensure daily food and milk deliveries and plan meal substitutions as needed, to ensure nutritional adequacy of all meals and snacks and provide information to centers outlining meal plansConduct nutritional assessment on all enrolled children and provide nutritional instruction to parents/guardians and staff as needed Collaborate with center nurses and nutrition aides to review food allergies and other special diets that are noted on health records Contact parents/guardians, if necessary, on nutrition related concerns and secure appropriate documentation from physicians, if neededReview the monthly menu with the nutrition aides and report any delivery discrepancies to WPSMaintain accurate, current childrens nutrition information in Child Plus database with accessible supporting documentationProvide nutrition education workshops (handouts and monthly newsletters) for parents/guardians and staff.

Work cooperatively with staff to plan nutrition activities for Head Start children Complete and submit monthly Nutrition reports to WPS Nutrition OfficeAttend monthly supervision meetings with the director
