Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to work within the Mi-WIC Program to assess clients' nutritional and medical needs. Performs necessary testing such as anthropometric, hematological, and lead testing. Educates clientele on assessment and refers them to appropriate community resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses and interviews clients about medical conditions, lifestyle habits, nutritional goals, and breastfeeding goals; populates information into the Mi-WIC program; provides feedback, education, and referrals. Captures lab data from clients including height, weight, head circumference, and hemoglobin and lead testing. Answers phones, schedules appointments, and enters new client data into MI-WIC. Educates clients on the WIC program; assigns WIC cards, creates welcome packets for new clients, and emails relevant educational materials to clients. Issues breast pumps; provides instruction on how to use breast pumps; cleans returned loaner pumps; maintains inventory. Receives and logs returned formula. Attend conferences and webinars to keep up on the latest breastfeeding research. Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field 1 to 3 years of related work experience in community health, nutrition, etc. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
