Registered Dietitian Full-Time | Jackson, Mississippi A long-standing, mission-driven nonprofit residential treatment program in Jackson, Mississippi, is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to join its multidisciplinary team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and adolescents receiving residential behavioral health treatment by ensuring they receive individualized, evidence-based nutrition care that supports their physical, emotional, and psychiatric well-being. Working closely with medical, psychiatric, nursing, and clinical professionals, the Dietitian will oversee nutrition services, develop individualized care plans, and ensure all dietary practices align with trauma-informed, client-centered treatment principles. Position Responsibilities Clinical Nutrition Complete comprehensive nutrition assessments for each youth upon admission. Develop individualized nutrition recommendations based on clinical needs. Monitor medication-nutrition interactions and adjust dietary plans accordingly. Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to ensure meals meet each youth's nutritional requirements. Oversee monthly menu planning to ensure compliance with pediatric nutrition standards. Ensure meal and snack schedules support the physical, emotional, and behavioral needs of youth. Assist with recipe development to provide balanced macro- and micronutrient intake. Recommend and oversee therapeutic and special diets as needed. Food Service Oversight Ensure food service delivery aligns with trauma-informed care principles and the CARES Center Clinical Model. Monitor dietary operations for compliance with safety, sanitation, infection control, and organizational policies. Support continuous quality improvement initiatives related to nutrition services. Documentation & Quality Complete timely, accurate nutrition assessments and maintain documentation within the electronic health record. Maintain records of menus, nutritional analyses, and special dietary accommodations. Participate in quality improvement activities and nutrition-related data analysis. Education & Collaboration Provide nutrition education to youth and caregivers using developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive materials. Collaborate with family partners and activities staff to promote healthy eating habits. Educate interdisciplinary team members regarding nutrition-related issues affecting behavioral health treatment. Qualifications Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (required). Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetics program and supervised practice. Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential. Eligible for or currently licensed as a Licensed Dietitian (LD) in Mississippi. Experience working with children, adolescents, behavioral health, residential treatment, or psychiatric populations is strongly preferred. Knowledge of medication-nutrition interactions and pediatric nutrition. Strong assessment, documentation, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
